RAFAEL "POPOY" CUSI

Rafael Arenillo “Popoy” Cusi was born in October 1950 in Bongabon, Oriental Mindoro to his proud parents Lucas Cusi and Josefa Arenillo. He is married to Maria Cristina Verroya, and together they have three children.

Popoy Cusi holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with major in Painting  from the Philippine Women s University.

He started exhibiting his works in 1975 and participated successfully in many art shows in the Philippines and internationally, including in the  US, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and many more.  He also has held many one-man exhibition. Popoy received many awards and distinction, and has been featured in international publications and books.

Popoy’s outstanding skills and talent in painting, especially in watercolour, earned him the distinction of  “Master of Watercolour” in the Philippines.
