PEDRO AMORSOLO

Pedro Amorsolo, was born on October 21, 1926 in Sampaloc, Manila.

He inherited his uncle's (Fernando Amorsolo) gifted hands on canvas. 'Pedring', as he is called by his clients, and close friends, is a very dedicated artist, and has a touch of detail.

For many years, he lived in Makati and supplied numerous art galleries with Ifugao portraits, still life, and farm scenes.

His meticulous life-like style of painting earned him prestigious clientile.The Amorsolo name is synonymous with fine art coming out of Manila in the earlier and mid 20th century.

Beside tourist portraits as subjects in the 1950's and 1960's done, many artworks featuring indigenous people were done by Pedro Amorsolo. A pair of native Philippine paintings are rare and sought after for this reason alone.
