Exhibit at Universities in the Philippines in 2012 Throw – back on the preparation of the launching of the book “Revisiting Mabini Art”

Middle 2012 the preparation of the launching of the book were in the final stage and a series of exhibition took place in five Universities in the Philippines with the title:

Revisiting the Mabini art of PACO GOROSPE (1939-2002) and its objectives:

To expound on the importance of the “Mabini School of Art” in the development of Visual Arts during post-war Philippines;

To launch a coffee table book on Paco Gorospe as an invaluable reference material on his contributions to the “Mabini School of Art”;

To exhibit at least 10 of his artworks representing a cross section of his phases and growth as a progressive artist, leading to the Metropolitan Museum of Manila exhibit with the BSP collection;

To highlight his acceptance as the only non-Fine Arts graduate among the Neo-realist group which frequented Lyd Arguilla’s Philippine Art Gallery; and

To encourage everyone to pursue excellence in their creative endeavors, whether through formal or non-formal education.

Venues were Sept. 13-25 at De La Salle Lipa, Lipa City, Nov. 26-30 at University of the Philippines Diliman, Feb. 12 at De La Salle University Dasmarinas, Cavite, June 17-21 at Ateneo de Manila University and finally Jul. 23-27 at University of St. Tomas.

In 2013 finally the coffee table book “Revisiting Mabini Art” was launched in Germany and the Philippines. The artbook can be purchased - kindly approach us through our Social Media Channels.
